Why 9x12

The biggest card in the mailbox.

Most postcards are 4x6 or 6x9. A 9x12 has room to sell, and it gets seen.

  • Room for a real offer

Your offer, photos, reviews, a map, and a QR code all fit without cramming.

  • Hard to miss

Big enough that it doesn’t hide between letters. People see it before they sort the mail.

  • Every home on the route

EDDM delivers to every address in the neighborhoods you pick. No mailing list to buy.

  • Simple to order

We only print EDDM cards, so the whole process is built for it: pick routes, send a design, done.

Drawn to scale: twice the space of a 6x9, four and a half times a standard postcard.

All Inclusive

You send the design. We do the rest.

Everything it takes to get a card into every mailbox on your routes, in one price. No design yet? We make it for $60.

  • Printing on thick 14pt cardstock with UV gloss, full color on both sides
  • USPS postage for every card
  • Bundling and paperwork done the way USPS requires
  • Drop-off at the Post Office for your routes
  • Tracking and photos of your print run
  • A pack of extra cards mailed to you for your counter

How it works

Three steps, about two weeks.

Printing takes 4 to 6 days after you approve your proof, then 2 to 3 days to reach the Post Office. In our experience, cards land 3 to 5 business days after the drop-off (USPS doesn't guarantee a window for Marketing Mail).

  1. 1

For HVAC companies

When to mail, and what to offer.

September to November

Heating tune-ups and safety checks before the first cold snap.

December to February

No-heat repairs, plus system replacements with financing.

March to May

AC tune-ups before the first heat wave.

June to August

AC repair and replacement, and maintenance plan sign-ups.

Offers that get calls

  • A set-price furnace or AC tune-up with a clear deadline
  • A maintenance plan: two tune-ups a year and priority service
  • A free second opinion on any replacement quote
  • Financing on new systems, if you offer it
  • An indoor air quality check
  • A "we're working in your neighborhood" special

Picking your routes

  • Older neighborhoods first: heating and cooling systems often last around 15 years, so homes built in the same era tend to need replacements around the same time.
  • Switch the map to "Homes only" so your cards skip businesses.
  • Shade the map by household income when you're pitching new systems.
  • Mail the same routes more than once. The second and third time is when your name starts to stick.

5,000 homes on a 9x12 card is $2,999 All Inclusive, about 60 cents a home with postage included. A single system replacement often costs a homeowner more than the whole mailing.

I put together the 6x11 community cards with Mitch’s program and it’s always a stellar experience. From the great customer service and getting the order confirmed, to the time of delivery and receiving my COMPLIMENTARY 20 extra cards for prospecting, it was no hassle and Mitch’s team took care of almost the entire process for me! The cards are great with no issues regarding the quality of the material and thickness. They are evenly cut with no errors that I’ve seen so far. If you’re thinking of starting this side business, I highly recommend using this service. I’ve been here since March of 2025 and the amount of people and coursework that is here to help you along the way makes it easy to get started and succeed.

As an operator, this process couldn’t be smoother. As someone who also includes their own businesses on these, they look fantastic! Not only does this make them look great and professional when people find them in their mailboxes, it’s the absolute best way to close a sale with a potential advertiser. They always say “these look great!” A no brainer. Incredibly grateful for Mitch and his team!

How much do HVAC postcards cost?

A 9x12 HVAC postcard printed and mailed to 5,000 homes is $2,999 All Inclusive, about 60 cents a home with postage included. Runs go from 250 to 20,000 homes, and a full card design is $60.

When should an HVAC company send direct mail?

Mail a few weeks before each season turns: heating tune-ups in early fall, AC tune-ups in spring, and replacement offers when systems are working hardest. Mailing the same neighborhoods two or three times in a season works better than one big drop.

What should an HVAC postcard say?

One clear offer with a deadline, your phone number in big type, a QR code to book, a few reviews, and a photo of your team or truck. The 9x12 size gives you room for all of it without cramming.

How many homes should I mail?

Most HVAC companies start with 2,500 to 5,000 homes in the neighborhoods closest to their shop, then mail them again. Our route map shows the door count as you click, so you can match your budget exactly.

Do I need a mailing list or a permit?

No. Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) goes to every address on the USPS carrier routes you pick, so there's no list to buy, and on our All Inclusive package there's no permit or paperwork for you to handle. We print, bundle, pay the postage, and drop the cards at the Post Office for your routes.

Can you design the card for me?

Yes. Our designers make the whole card for $60. Send your logo, your offer, your phone number, and a few photos, and you get a proof to approve before anything prints. Already have a design? Send a print-ready PDF and we check it for you.

How long does it take?

Printing takes 4 to 6 days once you approve your proof, then 2 to 3 days to reach the Post Office. USPS doesn't guarantee a delivery window for Marketing Mail, but in our experience cards reach homes 3 to 5 business days after the drop-off.

Can I mail only homes, not businesses?

Yes. Our route map has a "Homes only" switch, so the cards go to residential addresses on your routes. You can also shade the map by household income and pick the neighborhoods that fit the jobs you want.

What is the smallest order?

Runs start at 250 cards, and they go up to 20,000. USPS needs at least 200 pieces in an EDDM Retail mailing, and most first mailings are 1,000 to 5,000 homes.

A bonus idea

What if your postcard paid for itself?

A lot of business owners who mail with us end up selling the other spots on a shared 9x12 card to other local businesses, so their own ad is free. That’s the 9x12 Method, and the masterclass shows how it works.
