Settings - 9x12 Method CRM Walkthrough

Mitchell TeboApril 28, 20252:52

A walkthrough of the 9x12 Method CRM settings page: contact details for invoices, data export, duplicate cleanup, pipeline archives, and payment links.

Key takeaways

  • Set up the settings page before using other CRM features, since the contact details you enter there appear on invoices sent to clients.
  • The data section lets you export contacts as a CSV file and flags duplicate contacts with the same name and email so you can delete them.
  • Archived sales pipelines can be viewed and brought back into your current pipeline from the pipeline archives section.
  • Add your Stripe or Square payment links with button labels, such as buy single ad, so the invoice feature can include them automatically.
  • The danger zone button permanently deletes all contacts and pipeline stages, so only click it if you truly want to erase everything.

Welcome to the 9x12 Method CRM settings section. This is basically the brain behind your entire database and I recommend setting up your settings before you go into any of the other features on the CRM just to make sure everything's set up correctly. So here you can just see the name and the email that you signed up with. Your contact details will be the information that actually shows up on invoices and other documents that you send to clients. So if you're going to send invoices and you want your contact information to be different from the email or the name that you signed up with, this is where you would change all that contact information.

So you can add those if you want something different to show up. Next we have dark mode where you can change the appearance and this actually reflects on all the different sections of the CRM. Pretty simple. I'm going to turn off dark mode. I prefer light mode but you can use whatever you want.

Data, this is where you can actually import contacts although I recommend doing that in the contact section which there's going to be a tutorial for that, too. But you can also export your contacts here so if you want to move any of that data to somewhere else, this is how you can download a CSV file of that. And duplicate management, this CRM will actually look at your contacts and see if there's any duplicates. So if you have two contacts that are named Mitch Thibault with the same exact email address, it'll notify you here and you can delete duplicates right there. And then this is the danger zone.

Only click this button if you want to delete all of your data on the CRM. You'll delete all of your contacts, all your pipeline stages in the sales pipeline, everything. So only click this if you are ready to delete everything. It cannot be undone. Pipeline archives, so this is actually any sales pipelines that you archived.

So we'll get into the sales pipeline tutorial but this is where you can actually go back and see any pipelines that you previously archived and you can view the the data on those pipelines and you can actually bring that pipeline back into your current pipeline. Subscription tab, this is where you'll manage your subscription. You'll see your details here. And the payment links, this one's pretty important. I recommend setting this one up right away.

We set up our invoice feature so that it actually sends your client an invoice with a payment link that you set up for your Stripe account. And the reason that we did this is to make it easier for you so you don't have to set up some complicated integration with Stripe in here. All you have to do is add your payment links. And I say Stripe, but you can use Square payment links. You can You can honestly even throw your sales page in there, but this is where you would put your payment link.

And you can add multiple. So, if I want my single ads to have this payment link for say $500, and the button label is what the button will actually say on the invoice, like buy single ad. You can actually add more, so then you can add your double ad payment link. I recommend just setting them all up to start with. That way when it comes time to send invoices to clients, if you plan on using that feature, it's already set up and that'll be a lot easier.

Make sure you click save payment link.
