guys I'm going to show you how I collected $116,000 last month from small businesses just using stripe which is the payment processor if you're unsure how I actually got businesses to pay me 16 grand actually use stripe which is a payment platform some people get overwhelmed by it but I'm going to show you just the couple key features that actually matter on stripe so we're going to go into stripe you should make an account it's pretty pretty simple to do this is really about how I actually collected the money so two things that we're going to go over payment links and invoices those are the two things you'll see them right here under shortcuts and if for some reason you don't have shortcuts you just go to transactions and create pay but I don't want to get ahead of myself first let's go over the difference between the two these are the only two ways that you could possibly need to collect money from businesses other than if they prefer to send you a check or something like that so a payment link is a sharable URL that actually allows customers to make your online payments without needing a website or some kind of integration it basically just lets you send them a link or a URL and they can pay right there alternatively if you already have a website you could actually put that link into a button so you have like a buy now button and that link can be used there and let me show you what that looks like so on our school Community one of the services I offer is I build an email list for you and you'll see at the bottom I say click this link to get started so when they click on it it brings them to a stripe checkout page this is a payment link that I actually set up that brought them here DM me by the way if you're interested in me building you an email list so that's what a payment link looks like and that can be useful it's less trackable and you can't automatically send reminders to people who haven't paid for example so we'll go over what an invoice is now because that's in my opinion the better way to collect money from people in this business so an invoice is more of a formal payment request you're actually sending it directly to them and requesting the payment specifically from them it includes uh due date and you could also set up automatic reminders on stripe so you could actually click a button to remind them and it will email them again that they still owe you money this is very helpful because as you know one of the hardest parts of this business is actually getting them to finally pay but un likee a payment link that which is just a generic checkout option an invoice is like a structured request so you're actually directly asking those people and telling them exactly what the payment is for okay so now I'm going to show you I'm going to go back to stripe and I'm going to show you exactly how to set up a payment link first so again we're going to go either will be in your shortcuts or you just go to transactions I'm going to do transactions so you click that sidebar and you're going to click create a payment and now you have options here you can create subscription manual payment payment link invoice ignore the bottom two we're going to start with payment link so what you're going to need is a product if you don't already have a product I recommend setting those up so actually let me show you how to do that first so we're going to go to product catalog and here is where you would create a product basically if you're selling a $500 medium slot and $900 large slots you should create a separate product for each of those two so for this one we we'll set up a medium slot and once you have the product created once you'll always have it so you can just select it medium slot um you can you can write a description this is what's going to show like on the um payment link page don't worry about just leave unit quantity at one you can upload an image if you want to and then you select the um the amount that it's going to cost right now it has it selected as recurring so that means they would pay you every month most likely you're going to do one off so it's just a medium slot cost $500 that's what I'm going to charge them and then you're just going to add product so now we have that in our catalog so now when we do go back to transactions create payment and when we go to create a payment link we can actually find that product see it's right there medium slot and we can just select it you can also go over these other options collect the customer's address if you think it's important require them to provide a phone number these are all things that you can decide on um there's Advanced options if you want to add a custom field where they I don't know tell you their industry something like that if you need to collect extra information especially if this is on your website and you're running ads there you want to know about the business that actually just purchased the slot from you that way you don't have to ask them a million questions once after they purchase it and then yeah so you can customize it however you want then all you do is cck Click create link and now we have an actual link that we can link places so you just press that clipboard right there that copies the link and now look what happens when I paste that link this is on the buyer side when the buyer clicks on this link this is what they see the payment link that you created and they'll be able to put in their payment information which hopefully I figure out how to blur out after this I don't want you to see my information and then they'll just click pay and it'll pay you on stripe so that's payment links next is what I prefer which is invoices I like invoices because like I said earlier you can actually manually remind them and it's also easier to track which is helpful because you can see who's paid who hasn't paid and you can basically just click a button to remind them to pay which is very helpful in this business so in order to create an invoice you just go to invoices or you go to transactions create payment invoice and what you're going to do is it's probably going to be a new customer it's somebody that you haven't collected payment from before so you just click on add new customer here and you'll put in their name usually I just put the name of the business so I'll just put mitches hot dogs okay and then email Mitchell at 9 by12 method.com that's my email then you press you could just press this button to save it so now that's an actual customer on your stripe account you'll have them saved there um and then you can select the item you're actually invoicing them for and because we already made the product it's going to be right here you just click and it's going to show right there medium slot remember we made that earlier um quantity is going to be one they're only buying one slot item options save so you're going to be requesting payment right away you don't necessarily you can schedule the send date if you if it's like midnight and you want it to send at 8: a.m. but that's you know not very helpful I like to give them seven days and then you're going to have you're going to email the invoice to the customer you want them to see the invoice and you want to include the link to the online payment page and I'm going to show you what this looks like once you actually send it to them I'll show you what they receive you can change how everything looks but that's not very important and then yeah so you have a set up it shows that they're purchasing the medium slot it cost $500 we're going to send the invoice you can also CC other other emails on on the on the on the email if you'd like and then you just click send invoice so now this is on your stripe account you can see that the invoice was created I'm going to show you what it looks like to receive the invoice so now we're the customer so you can see that we have the invoice in our inbox I'm the customer now so you just sent me the invoice this is what it looks like as the customer they got this email it actually shows exactly the amount owed and a big blue button pay this invoice it's super simple it makes it really easy for your customer this is why I love Stripes so much just makes things very convenient it's worth the 3% the 2.9% fee that you pay just for the convenience you can save time that way you have time to sell more slots okay it's all about that abundance mindset okay so then they'll have the ability to basically put in their payment information and then pay so really simple on their end and then on your end again you'll be able to see which invoices are still open so see this one that I just sent to Mitchell he still hasn't paid me still open now if you wanted to remind them about their invoice automatically or it's not really automatically but manually you would just click on on that line item and then you would press send invoice and you can actually resend the invoice for example if they lost it somewhere in their inbox or if they're just taking forever to pay and you want to remind them you just do that and you click send invoice and it'll actually send the invoice all over again so it just stays top of mind because sometimes it takes a couple times for them to actually sit down and make the payment so hope this helps and again if you guys want me to
