9x12 Method Group Call - $10/Day = 4 Leads Daily!

Mitchell TeboMay 27, 20261:28:07

Mitchell demos ScanLab, a free QR code tracker for postcard advertisers, on a 9x12 Method group call, followed by member Q&A on Facebook ads and outreach.

Key takeaways

  • In ScanLab you create a client for each advertiser, then make unlimited QR codes under them with custom colors and a destination link.
  • The codes are dynamic, so you can point a QR code to a limited-time offer and later switch it to the advertiser's website.
  • Scan reports separate new and repeat scans and timestamp each one, which shows the cards were delivered and people are engaging.
  • Members running $10 a day Facebook ads reported three to four leads per night, including one $450 deal from $87 in ad spend.
  • A member shared a magazine publisher's advice: shared ads suit businesses already investing in marketing, not ones hoping for a last-ditch rescue.

Great. All right, we've got 32 people in here. I'm going to I'm going to start showing it. And so for right now just let me show the tool if you guys don't mind everybody muting yourself just in case you have background noise and then at the end you can just smash me with questions, all right? But just let me get through the full tool first and then and then you guys can interrupt me all you want.

Let me share my screen. Okay. So this is the Scan Lab and as you guys know, I'm sure you guys have looked at QR scan trackers out there. Um you can almost always find a QR code creator online that's free, but I haven't seen any that are free that actually track the number of scans. So as a part of this community you have unlimited free access to this tool.

I'll show you guys how to sign up with a secret code. It's just like the ad design tool where you're going to have to put in a secret code to sign up. And you're going to be able to create unlimited QR codes for all of your advertisers and actually be able to track the data of who scanned the scans over time because I don't know one problem you guys might sometimes have is knowing when exactly your cards went out. This is going to be helpful for that because now you know that the that USPS already distributed them when you see that scans are starting to come in. So that's just one very helpful use case.

So I'm going to show you guys how to sign up. So first we're going to click Oh, I already pressed the wrong button. First I'm going to click join free. And then here's the normal sign up page except for this line right here. You're going to have to grab the school secret code.

There's a link right here if you're part of the school community, which you are. You click this, it's going to bring you to this page here with the secret code. It's the same secret code to sign up for the ad design generator. So you just click that and then you go back to your tab. I'm now realizing you guys didn't even see the the page it brought me to, but just trust if you click this link you'll it'll bring you to the code.

You're good. So I'm going to paste that code in here. I'm going to put in my name. That's what you would do. You You check off that you agree to the terms of service.

This is a free tool, okay? Use it at your own risk, but obviously there's not much risk and it's a great tool. So, I'm just going to sign in cuz I already have an account. We'll show you guys the inside. I try to keep this as simple as possible while still giving you, you know, enough information and the ability to create as many QR codes as you want, you know?

Simplicity is the key to success in almost everything. So, there's just a few pages here. You're going to be able to create a client. A client would be like one business who joined your card. And then under that client, when you create a client, let's say Joe's You can choose their industry from a drop down, or if you don't see it, you just put their industry here by typing.

Put in their name. I'm just going to put my name. And then press create. We now have them as a client and we can create QR codes under them. So, you can go to their page.

This is where you're going to be able to see all of the scans of people scanning their QR code. And then you can add a QR code under them. The other way to do this, which is honestly simpler, you can see we have the list of clients here. So, the new the other way to create a QR code is just go to QR codes here. You can see I already have a bunch made.

You would press new QR code. You would select a client. I just created Joe's Plumbing. You would create a label. This is just the label to like tell you what it is, like, you know, their 50% off deal.

Let's see, 50% off deal. Destination URL, this is where you would actually put where you want the QR code to go. So, I'm going to put in which is a pretty cool website, if I do say so myself. We can adjust the colors of the QR code, you know, to match their brand, background color, and the actual QR code color. I like to keep a white background.

It looks clean that way. Then you just press create. And now this is going to be a working QR code. So, you guys can go ahead and scan this right now with your phone, okay? Because right now, if we look at it, we've got zero total scans because you guys haven't scanned it yet.

So, I'm going to give it about 10 seconds and then I'm going to refresh and you guys will see. And hopefully it works. And you guys will see it's connected to the Our Local Spotlight um QR I mean Our Local Spotlight domain. This way when scan it it's still branded similar to your card because a lot of you guys are going to have Spotlight on your card. It's all the more reason to join Our Local Spotlight, but either way it Okay, I'm going to refresh now cuz I'm assuming some of you followed instructions.

Look at that, 17 scans. You A lot of you followed instructions. Let's go and see You can see that these are new scans because it's going to show you whether it's a new scan or repeat scan. So, if some of you guys scan the code a second time, I'll actually see that some of these scans were repeats and it'll show me the repeat rate. That way your client knows how many individuals are actually scanning the postcard, not just one individual scanning it 10 different times because that's not as helpful information.

You can obviously deactivate the QR code at any time and you can also change the link. So, let's say your advertiser wants to run a deal that lasts a week That can send you can send them to this link for a week and then after that after that week goes by you can change it to a different link like just their website or something. You can change that and then anytime this QR code gets it'll lead to that new website, so. Obviously there's a warning here. So, if you guys scanned it now it would bring you to 9 by 12 method.

com and you guys can see that there's repeat data here now cuz some people scanned it a second time. And here's where it gets beautiful because this information is cool, but how can you utilize it to provide value to your client and also, you know, show them that this is working? Because you only have control of so many things. You can't control how many products they sell because what if their website sucks? You can't even necessarily control how many scans, but you can guide them on a good offer and a good call to action to get people to scan the QR code.

So, you can guide them on that, but you can show them that it's actually working. So, they might not be getting any sales cuz their product sucks or their website sucks, but at least you can show them that people are scanning it. It's just their website that's failing. So, now they know it's not your fault. Obviously, that's a worst-case scenario.

Ideally, you're showing them this because it's working and you want to show them that you're getting a lot of scans. So, what we can do is we can click report and that's going to generate a report for this QR code. So, it's going to bring us to the reports tab here. You can get there at any time just by clicking here. I'm going to choose Joe's Plumbing, the 50% off deal, which is the one we just created, and you can add a custom note.

I'm just going to say, "Hey, this is a weekly update." And then you can choose which sections will show. And it's a it's a very simple report. You can use your logo at the top. You would just change that in the settings, and it shows the destination URL that the QR code went to.

It's just a report for every single scan that came through the all the different datas data points that you can now share with them to show that the it is in fact getting scans. The bottleneck might be their website, but you can show them that the cards have delivered because it's getting scans. So, that's helpful information, especially the new versus repeat. What if they say, "Well, how do I know you didn't just scan it 50 times?" Well, you that's where you can present to them the difference between new versus repeat visitors cuz it actually tracks that.

So, you can easily download this PDF and email it right off to them. that is it. I think that is about it. Oh yeah, of course you have a general dashboard where you can see the stats for all of your clients, all the scans. You can see that every scan is time stamped.

You can see down to the minute when a certain QR code was scanned. Which is pretty cool if I do say so myself because data over time is much more useful than just data. So yeah, it's really simple. You create a client, you create QR codes under that client. You can create as many as you want.

You can deactivate them at any time. You can generate a report for them. And that's the tool. I haven't seen a free tool like this anywhere out there. I've seen QR code generators, but not with the tracking involved.

You guys can now track and send off those reports to your advertisers completely free. Now the link I'm going to drop in the chat right It is And if you guys don't know how to get to the chat, it is the little icon on the bottom right of your screen. Okay, so that is the link to it. Um there's also actually I don't even think I created it on School, but on School there will be I'll set up a link for it as well. But Right now you guys are my beta testers.

So I want you to test this baby. Obviously cuz you're here you have early access. I haven't launched it publicly to the rest of the community because I don't want a huge launch right away. I want you guys to let me know if there's any issues, obviously. I try to keep a lot of simple as possible.

It's obviously a free app. I can't have like AI within it because then it it cost me money every single time and I want to keep this app free for you guys. So hope you guys like it. Um now we can open it up to questions if anybody has any. And you got if you guys can't speak, you can also just send it in the in the chat your question.

Does it matter if our card won't be named after the spotlight? Nope, that's totally fine. You can still use it. Also, I have people asking about the uh lead scout, which is another cool tool that I just built. That one's not free, but it's going to save you a ton of time uh building a list.

Do it Does it show who scanned the QR and can we build a list from that? It does not show who scanned the QR code. That would That would go against privacy regulations for sure, Hey Mitch. That lead scout uh software that you made is a huge time saver. That is so worth the money.

The price of admission You you're not charging enough, but hey, don't get excited. Don't don't don't make it any higher, but I have gotten a lot of use out of it and it works wonderfully. I appreciate it, Dave. Um you your your voice was lagging a little, but I'll recap it to people that he said the lead scout software that collects a lead list for you is fantastic. He says I don't charge enough.

That's a good point. I'm going to raise the price now that you say that. Just kidding. But um but I appreciate it. I appreciate it.

I'm I'm super excited about that one. I can already see it's making a big change for a lot of people. Sure. And as far as this product, that's actually considered a dynamic QR code instead of a static QR code cuz you can change the destination as much as you want and whenever you want, correct? Yeah, exactly.

Yeah, it's it's dynamic. Well, that's huge because you're right. There is not a free dynamic uh QR code generator out there. Uh this is a great asset and a great tool. If people don't use it, they're they're crazy.

They ought to They ought to all use these. This makes a lot of Yeah, and your advertisers will appreciate it when you tell them that, you know, not only can you send out this postcard, but you can also now provide data to them about how many people scan this QR code and everything. When you pitch that up front, then they might trust you a little bit more because you're willing to put your data where your mouth is, you know. Now they really trust you're actually going to sell out the cards if you're promising them data to back it up. You can also use this now as You can also use this now as social proof or proof to to close the sale if one of your clients got like 500 scans on their QR code.

Now you can use that and tell other advertisers that you're trying to sell to, "Well, we had this client that got 500 scans and converted 10% of those scans, you know." Lots of ways you can use this. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. My pleasure.

And um people are asking about the Lead Scout. Um so it's Uh well, so many so many tools now I can't even remember the the links. It's I'll leave that in the chat as well. Before the price goes up. Um that's not a subscription.

That's a one-time one-time fee for that. Now obviously this is our our weekly talking show. So other if Feel free to ask any other questions about the tools that we have out there, but also let's hear about some people's wins today. What's going on, sir? Yeah, I'm pretty close to finishing the the card.

I have three more spots left, but I can use it for my own purpose. But the question I have is I'm I want to understand the Let's say if I get the prints from you, how do I actually fulfill it? After you receive the postcards from me? Like after you get the postcards from From you. >> So you would you would put in a postage order at and then I highly recommend a tool called, I believe it is Route Snip by Will Bradwell, which is going to help you put together the facing slips, which can be a little bit of a process because those slips you're basically going to have to count up the stacks of cards so that you put the right number of cards to go to a specific route.

And that's going to be a little bit of math, but with his tool it helps you out helps you out a lot. There's also a tutorial on YouTube if you just look up how to do EDDM order. Um there's a guy named Jake Lorraine who has a great tutorial out there that'll show you exactly how to do it step-by-step. It's pretty simple. It can just be a a little bit His tool is extra Will Bradwell's Route Snip is extremely helpful.

I definitely attest to it and it made my first mailer that I did a little over a month ago just extremely seamless. Uh I had them all bundled by uh Jake's. Definitely get them bundled, but then after that it took an hour to get things prepped. So no issue. Absolutely.

Would you mind putting the name of the guy here? Sorry. Jack Smith? >> The So it it's called Route Snip. You go If you just go to eddmtools.

com, you'll find his tool on there. I think Will's in the chat. I think he's on the chat. >> Oh, is he? Oh, perfect.

Oh, it's Rapid Slips. Sorry. Rapid Slips. But I believe you can get there from eddmtools.com as well.

But he put the link in the chat, Will Bradwell. Oh, Jackie. Yeah, I'll answer your question about I'll explain more about the destination URL. I'll share my screen again. So the destination URL simply where you are sending the audience who scans this.

So, what you would do, you create a QR code, you're most likely going to download it. So, you would download it as a PNG, and you would put that photo of the QR code, the PNG, onto your postcard design. That way, when it gets printed, people can scan it, customers in their houses can scan it. What the desti- destination URL is where they'll get sent on their phone once they scan the QR code. That's the destination URL.

So, it would be like your your advertiser's website or, you know, a a lead form if they if they want people sent to their lead form. It'll It'll depend on where your advertiser wants you to send the send everybody. So, we know Three has almost sent out sold out his card. We have Ben who made a sale today. What else is going on?

What's going on with you, Matt? You're muted. You're muted. Sorry to call you out, Thank you. Thank you.

I got my first I'm still in, so absorbing, but I got my first insurance guy who is a an SEO client, and I talked to my friend Brett, who's a web developer, and he's got like 400, you know, he's got some clients. So, I'm going to work with him to try to go start up fast. But, yeah, this is really cool. I really appreciate it. I'm having a great time in the community.

Thanks for all the cool tech. Of course, that's awesome. And that's that's genius. That That's a genius idea, actually. The web the local web designer has all of these local business connections.

People Go go call your local web designer. Yeah. Yeah. That's a good idea. I like it.

So, that that reminds me What's going on? You go. Some stuff cold calling, what stuff door-to-door, what stuff cold email? like which one do you think is like you get more more, you know, bites? Yeah, so I like a combination of the three.

I can say personally, I'm an introvert. I just do all email and Facebook Messenger, but that is not the most effective. The most effective that I've seen from other people is door-to-door, as long as you can get and you'll you'll you'll hear from Ryan as soon as I post that interview, that is pretty effective. Um I'd say the best bang for your time, especially if you're not in like a really dense community, is email and then follow up with a phone call, cuz email is just low barrier to entry. You're still going to get some responses and get some conversations going.

It takes like 2 seconds to do and then the cold calls are really where you're going to close them. Got it. I did like 100 mailers. I mean, 100, you know, door-to-door in one day. I got one bite.

On door-to-door, you did 100 in one day? I could Yeah, I printed 100 stacks in my home and I went like 100 business in the area. If the business was closed, like a dental office, I just laid it in into the under the under the door. And like one by one, somebody, you know, they did they did they did the bite. I see.

Well, did you get in touch with a lot of the businesses? I mean, the business owners? Some of them. But not all. Hm, okay.

Interesting. I wonder if Ryan has anything to say about that. I do, you know, what I would recommend versus leaving something for the gatekeeper or sliding something underneath a door, I would just make a note that they weren't available and then do a follow up, uh cuz that's who's going to make the decisions on whether or not uh they're going to, you know, buy a slot from you. From my experience, it's always it's always going to be the owner or the uh manager, they're the ones who are going to be able to, you know, have that uh decision-making. Makes sense.

Yeah, I Yeah, that is the one drawback of door-to-door is you don't always know when the business owner's going to be there. Especially in the summertime, I've I've heard I've noticed that um more business owners are not around. So, that's where cold calling can come in handy as well. Or if you do leave them something, don't hesitate to follow up again, you know, asking to make sure or get I get I ask for their business card, too, the owner, and then call them. Cuz they might not ever be there.

They might just be, you know, working on another business if they're not there, so to speak. 100% And people just leave I mean, people leave things to the side forever. They'll just hold that flyer off to the side if even if they're interested. They'll just keep pushing it off. They're busy business owner.

They have a million things going on, and they'll just eventually call you when they find the time, which will most likely be never. So, that's why you should follow up with them cuz they could be interested, and you're doing them a favor by following up. Yeah, hey Mitch. Uh this is Jay. Um I uh just um having the the design part of it just a nightmare for me for the most part.

Um but I was people were building stuff in chat GPT, and you can't size it which I didn't know. So, I've been going back and forth with the designer. Like, the guy probably hates me at this point in time. just it's it's crazy, but I'm down to my final two two ads that are going to be done tomorrow morning, and then I'm going to have the cards submitted over to the printer. Um so, that's pretty pretty exciting.

Um as far as my outreach goes, it's been kind of interesting. Um I do most of most of it cold calling um cuz I can I have a pretty good way of kind of getting into a conversation with somebody when I do it that way. Um but every day I try to send at least 10 10 for messages and 10 emails and like today all of a sudden one from a Greek restaurant just kind of popped up and then another one from like a a roofing company that I sent like a week ago. And it's like it's kind of funny like if you do it every you don't maybe 8 days from now one of those ones you did will pop up with hey I'm interested, you know, send me over some details type thing which is really kind of cool to see that starting to happen. And then um last night I went to my first networking networking event and um actually that's just all business owners.

There were like 40 business owners. They got a chance to speak to about eight or nine of them. But I mean I basically just said look the whole concept behind this is is to get, you know, local businesses the opportunity to do something they normally can't afford to do. And when we all pull our resources together instead of something costing thousands of dollars it's just a few hundred dollars, you know, to get your name in front of these households or whatever. And people really really liked it.

I actually got you know, some pretty pretty good leads um from that. But uh it's been uh you know, the first card's going to be the hardest. But the second card um is going I've got two different zip codes in my town. The first one's going out to 46033 and then 46032 is the other side and some of the 46033s may go to the 46032 as well. And um I actually sold one.

You got a cleaning company considering six cards and I sold a pool installation company six cards uh the day before. So getting like packages of three is And and I stopped putting I say six packs are available, you know, upon request pricing because I feel like when you see they see those bigger numbers they maybe get like maybe this is a little bit more expensive than I than I kind of thought. But if you just see the three-pack number and the one-pack number then it's much more within, you know, the small business owners type reach. The thing I haven't sold yet that was a double, which is kind of mystifies me, but I haven't sold a roofing company yet, HVAC I got today, first first one of those, but that's a uh 4x3, um but it's just kind of and and and I'd love to see Ryan's uh technique when you put the video out because I've walked into places and I've had pretty good, you know, interactions with them, but one thing I did on the first one I did was it was called a thing called Bach to Rock, which is like a little music school for kids all the way up to and I walked in and I was like, this is the place seems kind of cool. And I was like, I got my phone out and I was like, hey, you're going to be my first post on my my Carmel Spotlight Facebook page.

And I said, you want to go ahead and pitch? And lady is like, well, yeah, I'm a performer basically. And so, she got up and did all the events. And so, I've started a Facebook page and I include that in my um thing, I'll post you on our our Facebook page. And so far, I've got like 258 followers now or something on the Carmel Spotlight page, which is kind of cool.

>> Nice. And um so, I'm just kind of throwing that cuz one of the owners was like, oh, that kind of sweetens the pot a little bit, you know? And then I'm try basically, I'm going to post all their ads on the Carmel Spotlight. And when I do that, I'm going to I'm telling them, look, you need to go share everybody's ad on your page, you know, not all at one time, but, you know, and then it kind of drives traffic back and maybe we can get a little bit more. And the other thing I did is kind of stupidly was I told told them I was going to do $25 out of their their spend and run Facebook ads.

I got a friend that's going to do it for me to the Carmel Spotlight to to get that to get the offer to drive traffic back to the Carmel Spotlight page and also get them maybe a little bit more exposure digitally for 5 days at $5 a day than they would have gotten just from the card. So, I I don't know, I just kind of I've been trying to kind of figure out a way to build the the digital brand with the and and it might make it a little bit easier, too. And I had a guy from Pizza Draft House that committed to the card for April, and he's like, "Yeah, I'll pay you $50 less than you want, but I'll give you three $25 gift cards that you can give to your customers as a thank you. And you got to go ahead and put a put a post on, and we'll I'll make sure everybody shares it and it'll drive some followers back to your page." So, it's been pretty interesting.

The selling part's much more fun for me than the design part. But from now on, no chat GPT ads. If you're going to build it, you're going to build it in Canva, or you're going to have your marketing team do it. And if you don't want to do it, then my guy is going to do it, because in that way it's done, and if there's a revision that needs to be made, it's just like, "Hey, just change this." He changes it, done, it's approved, and then I can move on.

But the the the design part's just been the most And I don't know where to learn Canva. I know you can go on YouTube and probably put a bunch of I don't really want to learn how to do Canva, but I almost feel like I kind of want to learn how to do Canva, if you know what I mean. Yeah. Yeah. Me, too.

>> it it takes You did a Canva tutorial a while ago in one of your recorded videos, and that was awesome. And and maybe if if you were able to ever like schedule another you know, couple of those, or maybe like you know, but you know, every other month sort of thing, that'd be awesome. Like a like a training every other month, you're saying? Yeah, or just like a you know, spitball Canva session, you know, people can you know, exchange their tips and tricks and whatnot. >> That's a pretty cool idea, yeah.

I like that. And I also kind of thought about doing some print brokering, but I don't know like how you got to set it up tax-wise. But but when I'm talking to these business owners, I kind of just want to be like, "If you need flyers, you need business cards, you need this, you need that, just send them over to me, let me know, and I've got I've got two or three printers I can legitimately say I'm going to send them send them and get them pricing, but I'm sure I can do better than Vistaprint. But my kind of thought there is like if I can get them to just even do business you know, and they pay me money, then we have an actual business relationship at that point type thing. So.

Yeah, absolutely. As long as you keep that relationship with them. Yeah. and obviously like you said that the second card should go smoother because you'll have those advertisers that stick, some of them. But also you've already put out thrown out so many so many messages into the ecosystem, and some people sit on those messages.

So, the more you have out there in the ecosystem, the more calls you're just going to randomly get like, "Hey, I'm interested now." Yeah, dude, one one of those shows up in my inbox, I mean they're getting they're getting freaking called like immediately. It's like I'm in the zone. >> Yeah. I did the work.

They said they're interested. I think they're raising their hand. So, but yeah, it and I've already got I think six, maybe seven spots sold with like three or four more on deck for the April card. So, be hopefully by the end of the week at like maybe eight, nine, and my goal is by the end of the month to have it filled and then working on you know, May. So, but yeah, it's been it's the first first one's the hardest, man.

That's what they say, but when you get some momentum going, it's it's pretty it becomes pretty fun. Yeah, absolutely. Uh I'm going to go back and answer you some questions cuz it looks like we have more questions in the chatty. Um does Lead Scout remember as in if I search for 10 roofers in a city and later want 10 more in the same city, will I get duplicate results? Um it remembers the search you did Like as in you can see your search history, so you'll never like lose leads as long as you export them within 3 But you will you most likely you might get duplicate results if you do the same exact search two times for just 10 people.

So, I'll do a larger search um to start off with the roofers. You might as well cuz it's quick and it's passive and you can be making your coffee while it's doing its work anyway. The next question, someone's asking Ryan some questions. Ryan, don't tell Jeff anything. He's got to wait till the >> When is the podcast?

What did you say? When when is that podcast? I want to see it. Yeah, I just I just interviewed Ryan yesterday, so it's getting put together, but it'll be on the YouTube channel within the next week or so, hopefully. Yeah, he just sold out a I'll get he sold out a community card, so we're going to talk all about that.

And for those of you who have been asking about the Lead Scout, I'll show you really quickly how it works. >> So, this is the Lead Scout. This one's not free, but if you are sick of collecting businesses' contact info on Google Maps, it's going to replace that for you because it does exactly that, but it does it on its own. It does it 100 times faster than you. Um but it actually collects the data in real time, which is what makes this so much better than the other tools out there because other tools are going to have you get a like 50% bounce rate because most of them are old data.

They aren't scraped in real time from Google Maps. It's old data that was already collected. So, a lot of those businesses are out of business. A lot of those emails don't exist. You're going to get a 50% bounce rate, which means 50% of your emails don't go through, which means the email service providers see you as a spammer and you start going to spam.

It destroys your reputation. That's what those tools do. This tool is different because it collects leads in real time just like you would on Google Maps. So, you would search, you know, realtor. We'll do real estate agent and you search your location that you want to search and then you just choose the number of results you want.

It's going to show the location right there. Like I said, it's real time. It doesn't It's literally looking up on Google Maps real estate agent in Newington, New Hampshire, and it's going to scroll down that list, go to their websites, collect all of their contact information. This is just a warning because I've already searched it. And now, while it's doing this, I could be going making my coffee.

More A smarter thing to do, I could be making cold calls while this is working in the background. You can move over to a different tab, it'll still work. Just don't close the tab, but it'll do the work in the background even if you're doing a larger search. So, it's completely passive. It's going to save you a ton of time.

This one's not free, but I think it's a fair price like a few people have said. But I uh one person recommended I raise the price, so I might do that. Just kidding, I won't. >> But um here we go. So, here's all the data that you get.

So, there is uh Yeah, of course. Yeah, if anybody's already seen this, no, I won't take it personally if you want to leave, but I'm definitely free for questions afterwards. It's going to give you all of their contact information. It's going to give you the owner's name. It actually scrapes their website for the owner's name if it can find it, which is pretty cool.

I don't know any other tool that does that. Collects their emails. If there's multiple emails on their website, it'll collect all of their emails on their website even if it's more than one, which I don't know another tool that does that. Phone numbers, and my favorite part is all of their social media links. So, you can see Facebook, Instagram, all of these if I click on it, it's going to go right to their Facebook page, right to their Instagram page, etc.

You can easily export these leads and put them into your CRM of choice. And one part that I like a lot is the generate email intro, which if they have a website that actually has, you know, proper proper information on it, it's going to generate a custom intro for them, an intro to the email. Let me to generate. Um [snorts] that's customized to things that it read on their website. So, it's not going to write the full pitch for you because some of you guys, you know, sell different things, sell different services like community card, etc.

But, this is basically the first paragraph you can add to the beginning, which shows that it did shows that you did some research, which is going to improve your response rate and close So, it even quoted something on their You're helping people real estate their realize their real estate dreams through meticulous education, advice, and execution. That was pulled from their website in real time. So, you can copy that, paste that into the front of your email. It's going to help with your close rate. All of that is part of the lead scout.

And then there is the route planner, which if any of you guys do door-to-door, this will be very helpful for you because it allows you to build the most efficient route for you guys to go from door-to-door, so that you don't have to guess which business you should go to next. So, you can easily search for the lead that you want to visit, or you can just select a list from your search history, from your saved leads. You can select a bunch of your saved leads and do it that way. We'll just do like the first 10 results of this. See, plan route.

Going to take two off. >> And then it's going to build the most efficient route possible. This is going to be very helpful for anybody who's doing door-to-door. You can select any leads that you want to go to in person on that day. And then you can just press a button, and it imports it right into your Google Maps, so you'll be able to just press go.

And there we go. That is the route. That's the most efficient route you could possibly go. And you can I forgot to show you you can have a starting address. So, we just did the leads, but you can have a starting address.

So, if you're going from your house, you can obviously know which one to go to first. But, that's the most efficient route you could possibly go to hit all of these businesses. Then all you would do is press open in Google Maps and it's going to open that exact route in Google Maps with all of the different locations. And you can use this on your phone as well. It's mobile friendly cuz obviously I don't think you want to use Google Maps on your computer while you drive if you're not a cop.

And that, I believe, is the vast majority of this tool. Obviously, like I said, you can save leads. All your search history is saved for 3 months. Um so, you know, any leads that are important to you, export them and you're probably going to want to put them into your into your spreadsheet that you guys use as a CRM or into your CRM anyway. That tool has more features than most of the tools that I already own that have uh that cost five times as much or or more.

So, you are giving so much value. Thank you for doing that. It's a great asset to all of us here in the community. It's my pleasure. I I love I love to hear that.

I'm glad I'm glad that I'm that it's completely over-delivering for the price. That's the goal. That's the Absolutely. Definitely way over-delivering for the price of >> Thanks, man. >> And you're always you're always grandfathered in for any updates.

My Yeah, hey Mitch, on that that software, does it does it pull um number of reviews and and rating like star rating? At the moment, it pulls the star rating. I don't think it pulls the number of reviews, but I can easily make that Yeah, that >> I can Yeah, I can easily make that update. The number of reviews. One thing I try to do is when I is, you know, try to people with at least a certain number of reviews and a certain rating.

Um you know, but uh if it doesn't have it, it's not not a big deal. I was just curious, but it's it's good to know that it does have the the rating now, for Yeah. Yeah, no I'll add that for sure. I can do that, no problem. Let's see.

>> Which the order that it comes in, is it any order, is it just kind of random? Um it's the order that it it that the search result came through on Google Maps. So, when you look up realtor in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, whatever the the search result is on Google Maps, the order that's the order that it'll collect them. Got it. And and the Instagram links, which is popped up there, is part of the profile, Google My Business Profile, or is it actually going to the website and getting those?

The Instagram link, it's coming from their website. Every all the information's coming from directly from their website itself. It goes into their website and collects their social media Okay, okay. So, did I answer your Yeah, I think so. So, let's say it is popping up three three results as an example.

You take the first result, it will go to the website, and it'll pick up the Instagram, Facebook, and whatnot links and putting it here. I'm sorry, you're kind of breaking up. Oh, sorry. let's say it it it it gives three three results, right? And it will go to the first website of the of the first result, and it will go to the website.

It will scan the or scrape the Instagram and Facebook pages, right? And puts it here. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So, I'll show you.

I'll show you. I'll show you what it does in real time. Weed scout. Okay, so it would go to Google Maps, it does the search, it goes to their website. So, I'll show you here their I got to mute somebody.

Okay, so it goes to their website. It searches through their entire website. I can't even find their Instagram link, but it's here somewhere. And then it it it copies the link from this button right here, which would be their Instagram. So, copies their Instagram link.

Does that answer your question? Yes. Yes. >> I was thinking it might because in in your Google My Business profile, you can also plug in your Facebook link and Instagram link, right? So, it actually goes to the website and and scrapes it.

Thank you. Got it. Yeah. Yes, sir. Yep.

And that's also it goes to the website. That's also how it like collects personal more custom information about them in order to build that that email the custom email intro. And that's also how it finds the business owner's name. I got to run, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for the QR code thing, man. That is going to be absolutely I was struggling with that that today, man.

I made one on and it scanned it on the card. It was expired and I was like, "Damn it." And then I had to go to Canva and make one. I'm not going to be able to track that one, you know? So, like this was this was a huge This was this is huge, man.

I'm going to be using it a lot. So, thank you very much for solving whole problem. I don't have any You stuck one right off my plate, man. So, have a good night. Thank you so much for for putting that out there.

I appreciate My pleasure. Thank you for coming. See you guys. Good luck on the rest of your card. Thank you.

Um and then yeah, that's another risk about the QR code generators out there. Sometimes you can generate a QR code for free, but in fine print it's like it will expire in 10 days if you don't subscribe. And then you get screwed cuz if you printed 5,000 cards with that QR code and your advertisers counting on that QR code working, now you have to subscribe. So, you can use this one now. And then somebody asked about the price of the lead scraper.

So, first of all, the QR code it the the QR code tool that I showed is free. That's a separate tool. The lead scraper, I was Let's see. Make sure I see your whole question. Is an annual subscription?

No, so there's no subscription for the lead scraper. Let me share my screen. The lead scraper is a one-time fee. Of So, $197 for the standard plan. This gets you 5,000 credits.

They never expire. You can use them at any time. If you ever did run out, you can get 10,000 more credits for 100 bucks. I think it's 99 or 97 bucks, but 100 bucks. If So, if you run out, you don't have to pay the full package price again.

And then, so that's 5,000 leads. The premium plan is what gets you 15,000 credits. It gets you the owner's name identification. So, that's on the premium plan specifically how it pulls their owner's name from the website. The premium plan also gives you that route planner.

That's only on the premium plan where it actually customizes the in-person route for you. And the email intro generator, obviously that costs a little more money for the the AI to actually do its job, which is why it's only on the premium plan. So, that that's the difference between the two plans. They're a one-time fee. And if you ever run out of credits, first of all, they never expire, but if you ever run out, you can buy 10,000 more credits for 100 bucks.

So, it's a little discounted. You never have to pay for the full package again. No more subscriptions. How does it get the owner's name if the owner's name isn't anywhere on the Yeah, so it doesn't. Just like Just like if there's no email on the website, it won't get the It has to be on the website.

But I mean, a lot of them mention the owner's name right there on the website. Um it doesn't miss, but if the info's not there, it's not going to scrape it. It's not going to have it. So, a lot Some Some of the websites don't have emails. Some of the websites don't have phone numbers, but in general, a lot do.

Okay. And the beauty of this tool is it does collect their Facebook page, which can be helpful because a lot of times when the website's not on their I mean when the email's not on their website, it's almost always on their Facebook page. I tried to make it so we could scrape the Facebook page, but they make it impossible to scrape Facebook pages self. Couldn't make it happen. But at least now you can just if they don't have a email, you can just click to their Facebook link and it'll most likely have an email there for you.

Uh Jerry, the link to the QR code generator is scan.ourlocalspotlight.com. I'll send it in the chat. Caesar, hopefully that answered your question about the cost for the the lead generator.

But if you go to the website, it'll it'll show you as well. Oh yeah, Dave, you can you can use you can customize it to any colors you'd like, the QR code. You can customize them to be any colors. You can customize the background and the foreground. Add the email in once you find it.

Donald, you cannot I don't think I have that feature. I don't think you can edit the data. Like if they're missing their email, I don't think you can add in their email. Um but I wouldn't recommend using this as your CRM anyway. I'd recommend, you know, exporting the list and you know, if you use just a spreadsheet as your CRM, then it's already going to be a spreadsheet when you export it.

Or you can easily import it into your CRM and then add the information there. One day I would like to combine the 9 by 12 method CRM and the lead scout, but that day is not not yet. That would get a little confusing for Fun question. >> That's what we got in. Yeah, what's up?

Well, I heard that on the mailers it has to have a specific for the USPS to identify. And I'm assuming the the template you have covers that. Like local PWR SSS, something like that, right? Yeah, that's the indicia. It's basically like the stamp, but it just it identifies it as an every door direct mailer.

So, the template as is is good. Um obviously don't mess with the indicia, the the part that says EDDM. Don't make it any smaller unless unless you really know what you're doing. Sure, yeah. I'm I'm not touching that >> Um Mitchell, in a medium-size metro area, are you trying to fill out a card per zip code?

You know what I'm saying? Or cuz you would you run into an issue with like your insurance guys like this area is important to me and your agent real estate agent's like, "No, I only want to hit this area." But Yeah. So, what define a medium-size metro area. Uh population 350,000.

Yeah, you could probably maybe not split it up by zip code, but you could have multiple cards running in a a place like that. If there's like different I mean, you could even just split it into quadrants like northwest city, southwest city. Um one zip code is is pretty small. You could also rotate it. It depends on your goals.

If you're planning on doing Are you planning on scaling to multiple cards eventually? Multiple cards per month? It's just that >> So, the way that uh the zip codes that I that I got uh that I chose, they're great. Most people would want it but like you want it um if it if send it throughout the whole area, it's um I chose one area that probably I don't know. Never mind.

Don't even worry about it. Just I'm just going to get >> I get I get But yeah, The way that I did it, I I recommend choosing adjacent locations like you're talking about um and running them separately, not necessarily like mixing them. Two separate cards, And it's helpful for them to be adjacent rather than just wicked far away because like you said, that was it a landscaper or realtor? They they want They wanted to advertise in multiple locations. Because they're nearby, that's going to happen more frequently.

If you have two busin- two locations that are 100 miles apart, you won't have that cross-contamination. But that cross-contamination keeps them in your ecosystem. Makes it more likely that they'll pay you every month, whether it's for one location or just bouncing back and forth cuz some people like to do that. Does that answer your Yes, thank you. Okay, cool.

Okay, based on your data you have in the group or your best estimate, are most Are most folks that you do fulfillment for doing 9 by 12s or community cards? It is probably a split 50/50 now, but it is becoming more common to be community cards. And I'm actually going to release a video about this very soon as well. Um about my opinion on 9 by 12s versus community cards. So, stay tuned for that.

I might be changing my YouTube channel name. I think that's foreshadowing. >> want to do 9 by 12s, but for me it was one of those things of learn to walk before I can run sort of thing and you know, get momentum and practice on you know, being able to fill lower you know, price thing and that can help build the confidence. It It did for me and I and I learned some valuable lessons with that. And that way it can help you figure out how to do a really good 9 by 12 down the road.

So, being a newbie myself, those are my thoughts. And I'm very analytical. I'm an engineer, so I was analyzing the crap out of it with like my pricing and and and all that stuff. It was definitely a smart move. I mean, it So, it gave you the confidence and you built relationships a lot quicker.

So, relationships that eventually can scale up to the 9 by 12 card anyway. And learning to not just do one-offs anymore. Do like the campaigns. Yeah, the packages, yeah. Do you Do you do it as like a 3-month package or just a pack of three?

Like is it Does Do they have to be 3 months consecutively or can they just buy a three-pack from you and redeem them at any time? Uh that's a good question. It is intended to be uh 3-month uh consecutively. And so, basically the For me, the the first one will go out once it's filled, and then I tell them the second and third will basically go out 3 to 4 weeks apart from each other after that first one. Because you know, and that's what that's what my idea was to make it easier to get these cards out and not have to try and find new advertisers every time, especially when I do want to go out to other uh zip codes.

My zip code has uh 15,000 homes in it, and there's 69 zip codes in my county. Uh Colorado Springs is pretty big. And so, uh so, being able to do the subscription where it's going out one after the other uh makes it easier um I think. And uh that's a good thought, Mitch. So, that's something for me to specify.

Cuz when they do ask when they go out, and it answers their question, but to clarify, it's not just a redeem it whenever they want sort of thing. That'd be a nightmare. >> It could be, but I mean, if they're paying for the full thing up front, then you have the money in hand. You just need, you know, a good way to keep track of it. 9x12 method CRM would help with that, actually.

The card manager, you can build a card right there. And then, you can see what advertisers have already joined. So, you can just pre-make 12 months' worth of cards and slot them in on the months that they chose, but not a plug. >> When Um somebody asked When's the community card feature coming on that That's a good question. Our our our priority right now that we're we're we're working with Google right now to get email integration sorted out so that people can finally start sending What Is there like a second one of me?

>> cuz I've asked that before, so. >> Yeah, sorry. Sor- Sorry it's taken a while. The Google Go- You should ask Google when they're going to get get off their butts so that we can get email integration finished. >> a lot of stuff that you're doing, so I I Yeah.

Was in the software world, I know how how it takes time, so. But, it makes it nice to get these live updates like this, so. Yeah, for sure. I love answering all you guys' And Sri has a question, if you go with the 5,000 prints from me, how many extra samples? Typically, 25 to 50.

There's there's a margin in commercial printing where it's not going to be exactly 5,000 cards that gets printed. It's about a 1% margin, and so typically, what we'd end up being able to send you is 25 to 50 cards in your sample extra package. Speaking of AI, I uh I did my taxes with Claude. So, I'm thinking about doing a video on that, not as a tax professional, but just to show people how it can definitely speed things up for you, cuz I have a pretty complex business with a lot of a lot of different products and investments and all sorts of stuff, and it did a pretty good job helping me out, and didn't have to go with an accountant, didn't have to count on them uh meeting the deadline because I did procrastinate on reaching out to one anyway, so Claude can definitely definitely help with that. And if you guys are using Chat GPT, look into Claude is fantastic, like a billion times better at everything, writing, coding, it's so much better.

What you need to do is figure out how to the AI to make the taxes go away. That's That's what I'm trying to figure >> That's what real estate's for. Still trying to figure that out though. Yeah, Donald said he swapped to Claude too. It's It is a breath of fresh air.

Chat GPT is a yes man. It just says yes to everything. It'll make It'll lie to you just to make you feel good. And I think they do that so that people will stay on the app cuz they know if it makes them feel good, they're more likely to stay on the app, but and they're they're more likely to keep paying the subscription. But Claude will tell you how it is, which is what we want as business owners, that we want it to tell us how it is.

Do you have any updates on that uh script that you did a while back how you have it set up to like send your emails and stuff? Like is it still using the same one it used before? Did you ever make any I haven't I honestly haven't used it in a while. Um obviously now with the the it and with my plans for the CRM is probably going to become redundant um just because the CRM eventually is going soon, hopefully, is going to have it not just the ability to send emails, but the ability to set up sequences, so it'll auto send emails on a sequence, follow up with people, etc. automatically.

So that basically takes place of the Chat GPT prompt, and the scraper is a whole lot faster than Chat GPT. So it should That prompt should still work. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't other than maybe certain UI, certain the interface in ChatGPT might be a little different, but it definitely still has that functionality. So, that prompt still definitely should work. Quick question, um Mitch, if I can.

Um What What's What's What's preventing the emails that would be being sent through the CRM or stuff that we're getting through the Lead Scout generator to still going to spam? I mean, I've got so many messages maybe a month and a half later saying like, "Hey man, didn't I thought you just didn't respond to me. I I really want to proceed. I thought I thought you just didn't send me the info I asked for." And so much of my stuff is going to spam.

I don't know how to prevent it from doing that. A lot of people talk about warming up your email, whatever that means. Yeah, you set slowly sending out a certain amount of emails, but what are we How do we know that the stuff that's getting generated from Lead Scout or that would be being sent through CRM is not going to be going to spam? Yeah, so I believe there's spam testers out there. Like, you can just look up like, "Is my email going to spam?"

And probably the first thing will pop up is a free tool where you can put in your email and it'll test if your emails are going to spam. Something like that. That's a way to test it. Um warming it up is a big thing. If you created a brand new email address and you just blasted off a ton of emails, that probably destroyed your sending reputation um and is what's causing you to go to spam.

Another thing is having every single email be the exact same can start to cause you to go to spam if it's coupled with a tons of volume. So, that's why this the scraper can help because it now builds you that custom email intro. So, every single email is going to be pretty different now. It's got a whole paragraph that's completely unique to that specific business. So, that's going to help your reputation.

But, the thing is I Someone Someone here might know the answer to this, but as far as I know, there's It's a great way to resurrect your email once it's, you know, hated by Gmail and everything's going to spam. I'm not sure if there's a great way to fix that. You might have to start from scratch. But somebody else on this call might know a way to fix it. A way to resurrect it if it's already Yeah.

Yeah, that was always a concern of mine cuz I hear so many often, "Oh, I sent 50 emails. I sent 35 emails. I sent 60 emails." It's like, "How are you doing that and not destroying your email?" Um I I still haven't kind of figured that out.

So, I sent very few, right? And the few that I do send out, I do get some responses. So, I was figuring out how can I start sending this on a much larger scale >> without having to create, you know, five different emails. I know there's got to be a way. Just got to figure it out.

Um Yeah. I have sent emails like that. >> It's It's It's It's a pretty much a golden rule to never send more than 30 emails a day from a specific email. There's something like Gmail There's like Gmail Plus or something that claims you can send 500 emails a day, but that Yeah, you can send them. That doesn't mean if all of them are the same, they're not going to go to spam.

So, that throws a lot of people off sometimes. They say they're going to subscribe to that thinking they can then send off 500, but that's not the case. You You probably You never You never want to send off more than 30 emails a day from a specific email. So, that's why I usually recommend spreading it out, creating multiple email addresses. And now, like I said, with the Lead Scraper, it's So, if you create three fresh email addresses, you have the Lead Scraper to build a custom email intro, or you can do it yourself if you don't have the scraper.

It's fine. And that will cause you to be a lot less likely to start going to spam. Especially it because they're brand new email addresses. I did a video on this really early on, like a year ago. Um Start with like five emails a day for each account.

And that's why you want multiple accounts cuz five emails a day is like nothing. But five emails a day for like a week straight, then step it up to 10 emails for the next maybe 2 Step it up to 20 emails for the next 2 weeks. Just slowly ramp it up. But, because you have multiple email addresses you're sending from, you still have decent amount of volume. Yeah, that makes sense.

It's It's an art, not a science. So, it's so unpredictable. That's That's all I have to say. And the more you can just >> I know. Yeah, decrease the chances of it happening the better.

That's what I just did. Started just three different emails. I send a few for me each and hope you do that. And then I was getting frustrated and I just said, "You know what? I'm going to make a little mini ad on Facebook."

I just made an ad on Facebook, set it to 10 bucks a day, just real super cheap. And then leads I wake up to three or four leads almost every single night, you know. And um so, they're coming in, "Hey, send" So, they're filling out their form. I'm just spending 10 bucks a day at at $87 spent. I got one close at 450 bucks.

She paid me straight that same day. And then I get two to three, maybe four leads max um that are coming in overnight. So, every time I get up, just just set it at 10 bucks a day. Made a little ad up with my face, you know, a little a little face video and just put it out there. And people are saying, "What are you talking about?

Send me some info, you know. What are you talking about?" Um and I closed one lead at $87. She paid me 450 bucks that night. Um and and she's been on there for going on 3 months now.

So, uh and I had another guy who didn't pay me right there and then, but after five or six touches, he signed up for 6 months and paid me paid me 2,400 bucks for 6 months uh via that via those uh Facebook ads. Um So, I'm I'm thinking I'm just going to go hard on those. That's awesome. Yeah. When you do those uh Facebook ads, are you doing that as a business page or through your personal Facebook page?

No, I have I have my little business page on there, which is super weak. I have nothing on there. I was Mr. Anti-social for uh social media forever and ever. I'm old school, so I never had social media.

I've never had a Facebook. I don't even have a personal Facebook. Kind of I do now, but it's literally like a year old. I've never had social media at all, but because of business, I was forced to kind of get one. So, I build a little spotlight page and I use that and I put my Facebook my my ad through that and use meta ads and set it to 10 bucks a day and just let it I just put it I put my card on there, set it to 10 bucks a day.

Now, I'm going to set it to $20 a day because I'm seeing it's kind of working. you know, at 87 I think at $87 I closed my first lead. So, that's pretty cheap >> for a $150 lead and this is going to be her third month she's staying on. She just calls me and says, "Hey, are we going on next month?" Yep, we're going on next month.

All right, leave the ad the same. I just call her and ask her, "Do you want to change anything?" She's like, "Actually, could you change this or that color or make it to this theme or whatever." Um other than that, I just leave it the same. So, I tried it with another lead and I found the video kind of sucked and it wasn't getting any leads and I just made a better lead.

I just went to chat GPD, "Give me a better script that works that's high, you know, high retaining and it's interesting to to a business owners who are looking to gain new customers." It gave me a decent script. Put on some uh Put it use the better background. I think the background matters a lot um for Facebook ads and and it's working. at least I'm getting three to four leads for 10 bucks a day.

That's dang cheap. Yeah. How long have you been running those Facebook ads? This will be probably the fourth month Oh, wow. And it's still that same ad that obviously you had the first one that didn't perform, but this second ad, the same one has been running at $10 a day and is still performing this well.

Yeah, and it's still getting at least three or four leads every day. So, I just it just keeps coming at at least three. So, hey. So, I got a I got a few guys and they're the guy that just closed, he was on there. He he messaged me and then I found out he's pretty local.

I went and saw him. He talked to his wife, then he talked to his son. And then like the son just kind of helped close the deal. He's like, "Dad, there's no other way we're going to get somebody to do all the work for us while while we do nothing. We just pay and they do everything."

He's like, "That You got it, kid. That's right." We do all the work. You pay, we do the work. And he's like, "Yeah, we're really busy here.

Tax season is here." He's an insurance agency. I find insurance agencies are just the easiest to close. They close themselves. These guys are so busy, especially during tax season.

Those are the ones you hit up, man. And if you don't uh if you don't have a if you need a spot to fill up, that's where you should target. They just seem to close so quickly. I'm having a heck of a time getting my last four to close right now to to fill up the card, but that's why I'm just going to ramp this up from 10 to 20 bucks a day. And then if it if if I can, I'll probably go to 35, 40 bucks a day just to kind of get this thing going.

I mean, we're asking investors uh uh we're asking people advertisers to spend money. We got to spend money, too, right? We got to advertise, too. So. I I caution you on one thing.

And I'm not a I'm not a Meta Ads expert, but from what I know about Meta Ads, if you double the budget in one go, it can really hurt the learning. And right now it's learned a lot about your ideal client. Um so, the recommendation usually is like to add 20% every few days to your budget rather than just doubling it cuz it can completely reset the learning and damage like the the results of your ad for the next couple Does that make sense? >> Oh, nice, dude. I I had I had no idea.

I didn't even know that was a thing. Yeah, that's that's one thing I've been learning cuz I just started running ads. >> Absolutely correct. That is great advice. Do not hit the pedal, just throttle it very gently.

Yeah. And it's hard to be patient. >> If you want to scale up faster, just copy your ad, duplicate it, and cuz even that a duplicated ad will get different results than the one you're running. But, don't increase it more than 20%. Um I would keep it around 10 to 15, and it might only you know, two bucks on a $10 ad, but just increase it that Let it run for 7 to 10 days.

Then add another 20%. You could do it a little faster, but since that one's been like Mitch said, going that long, I would I would not touch it, to be honest. I would I would duplicate the ad, um maybe another complete campaign, um or at least the ad set. duplicate that, depending on where you get your ad spin at, either campaign level or ad set level, and duplicate it, and then go from there. But, I would not touch that ad.

If you've got $10 a day that's been running, what'd you say, 4 months, 3 4 months, and it's getting you 3 4 dollar leads at that, leave it alone. And just get Go play in another pool. Get Start another campaign, and and go from there. So, yeah. Wow, that's really cool, guys.

I had no idea. I'm kind of doing this blindly. I just figure I just figure, hey, throw money at it, see what happens. I just didn't I hadn't even know this was a thing, that these were a learning that these were learning algorithms, and then that if you throw more money at it, you're you're you're kind of throwing it off kilter, huh? Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, it's probably its performance is probably improved from the first 2 days that you were running it to the the second month that you're running it, I assume, right? Yeah, it did. Yeah, cuz the very first time I ran it, it just wasn't doing anything for like almost almost 20 something days. I didn't I wasn't seeing And then I figured, you know what, I'm going to change the lighting, change the background, put a different shirt on.

I got myself a little microphone. Uh I a little Hollyland Lark M2 and I gives me made the sound way better since cuz where I live, I live right by a street and I'm recording in one of my and you could just hear the cars passing. It was just not a great video, but a simple re-record with better background, better lighting and just seemed to it just seemed to resonate a little bit more and overnight I ran that same night and in the morning I woke up there was three or four leads. The next day again, three or four leads. Next day same thing over and over again.

Um and not knowing I was like, is this sucky or is this good? And so I asked ChatGPT and they're like, that's absolutely mind-boggling fantastic if you're getting three or four leads for 10 bucks. So um yeah, I'm I'm just going to leave it alone as you guys are suggesting. I appreciate the heads up cuz I I thought you feed it more the more it'll give, but that's wrong. Think of Think of it like pressure on a Like if if if your ad and your audience size, however you target, it it's like a bubble or however however you want to think about it, a pressure like a water hose or something like that.

The more you push a budget onto a Facebook ad, it has to work harder to try and find those people to to feed you. So those leads. So what happens is the cost of the lead goes up because it's having to work harder. Take it easy. Like I said, my advice, such as it is, is if if it were me, I would and it given your circumstance, I'd like I said, I duplicate the campaign or at least the ad set.

Um maybe test some other creatives and see, but if you're just wanting to ramp up what you're doing right now, I would personally I would just double the and maybe start at a little higher price on that one, but keep the one that's working working and I again, I would not touch that one at all. But I'm just leaving it alone. Okay. I I like I said, if the more you the budget thing is you think, well, if I spend $10 and got, you know, three or four, if I spend $20 I'll get, you know, six or eight or whatever. It just doesn't work that way.

You're putting more pressure on this the the way I think of it, on the ad to perform, and it's under those other parameters you had set, and so it's just having to work harder to give you the results, and therefore your cost goes Or or or lead quality goes down. I mean, it can go either way on a lot of things, but but yeah, that's the best way I can think about it. Yeah, the one thing that I'm noticing is I I don't know how to limit it or if I should just leave it alone. I'm getting a lot of people from quite a uh a little bit further than I'd like to service. So, I'm mostly in the city of Riverside, but people are like 40 mi away, and they're like, "Hey, could you do my town?

Whenever you get into my town, could you do my town?" And I'm having to say, "Yeah, I'm not just not doing that right now." But these people are like ready to pay like now. Um but I'm not servicing that city. So, perhaps I should just try to I don't know.

I I feel like I'm wasting that lead, you know, I don't know how to solve that problem of people that are outside of the boundaries I'm covering, because I'm seriously just trying to focus on my city right now. Um and just dominate my city before I I I start moving out. But I don't know if that's the wrong strategy or not. What city are you in? I'm in the city of Riverside, California.

It's massive. I mean, it's a massive massive. Okay, is that Where's that What What major city is that near? Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco? >> way south of San Diego.

I mean, way way north of San Diego, cuz San Diego's south from me. So, it's Riverside, >> Oh, I see. >> It's in the city of It's in the county of Riverside, yeah. I see. Well, you've got a few partners all around you on Our Local Spotlight.

So, if you do get leads from there, you could potentially at least pass them on to partners uh for good faith or sell them to partners if if you guys come up with some sort of agreement. There's a partner in There's a partner in And then a bunch obviously in Los Angeles and then one in the high desert area like Victorville. I'm sure you're getting leads there. Yeah, yeah, that's all those surrounding areas. Yeah.

So I can go in there. I can go under your website and see. I think I'm on your thing as well, Riverside Spotlight. Yeah, you're on there. Yep.

Um Yep, that's a good idea. I never really thought of that. I just feel like I said I feel like it's a wasted lead. Got people 35, 40 miles out and I'm just like, man, I'm trying to focus on this area now. Um >> Yeah.

How did you How did you How did you target the ad? How is it targeted? Is it radius? Is it zip code? Is it city name?

No, I I think I just did city name. Yeah, I did city name, Riverside, California. There's a ton of zip codes here. We've got hundreds of thousands of houses here. It's massive.

City of Riverside is huge. So I think I I remember I The reason I set that up, I saw someone say something and said, "This is how I did it." And I just kind of did it on a whim and I just did it. And I followed what he was doing and I don't even remember how the heck I set it up. I just saw what he was doing.

I copied, I paid, I went to bed. Next day I woke up and the leads were coming in. That's it. I was sitting staying up till 2:00 in the morning having a glass of wine and some cheese and the next day I woke up and there's leads on my computer. So I was like My My advice, go in the ad and go back and look at the targeting and see what that says.

you might be out further like if it's a radius like if you did the city, it might have set your radius at 50 miles or something like that or 25 the standard. So here's what I would do is if you when you duplicate your ad to ramp up your budget, go in and tighten that radius down. You can You can target by zip code. Sometimes it's a little funky with zip codes. I always do radius.

Um and you can tighten that down. And so maybe if it's 10 miles for your zip codes, that'll help. But something I've noticed here lately, I've like I've client today I was running I run Facebook ads. I've been it for I don't know however long. And I had a client that I kept getting messages that were asking, "Are you in this city?

Are you" cuz he runs events. "Are you in this city? You're in this city?" And I'm like, "How the am I getting all these weird cities?" People asking I go make sure my cuz sometimes Facebook is cracked out.

And I go and make sure my ads are targeting. Nope, I'm 15 miles in this little this city is where I want to be. And then I get another one it's in Atlanta. And then here's another one in South Georgia. And here's another one over here.

And I go back make sure I it's still there. But But what happens sometimes with I don't know if this is your case, but what happens sometimes with Facebook ads just cuz of the algorithm and you know, the way sharing things work and people know somebody and and and the way it spreads is you could could be getting let's say maybe you're only out 15 miles, but you're getting somebody 40 miles away. That's just the way the algorithm works sometimes. People see ads, they pop up. You know, Bob in your city center clicks an ad and it shows ends up showing it to a friend because they have similar interests.

That's 50 miles away. That's just how the ad works sometimes. Um, so it even though let's say like in my case today, I'm 15 miles, I'm getting people that are 200 miles away that are responding, but it's cuz of the how the algorithm works. to to Mitch's point, that could be a good good problem to have and you set up a business relationship, you know, with leads, but but just check on that. Make sure it's whatever the radius is.

Uh, Yeah. The I mean, there's a new the new update on meta ads changed a ton as well. So a lot of your targeting that you give it is a recommendation now and it will almost always go outside of that recommendation, especially if it starts getting data like this type of person is filling out this form. And if you have your goal as filling out the form, if the goal is set for leads, then it's going to optimize for that. So, if more people from this city are filling out that form, it's quickly going to learn that it should be targeting people in this city for you.

So, that's one tough thing about local Facebook ads that I've noticed with the the new update is it it learns very powerfully, but when you're trying to hit a very small radius that's very local, then that might mess things up. And like Will Bradwell said, it could also be their cell phone IP address, VPNs. There's all kinds of factors, but it's good that you're getting cheap leads Yeah, Facebook is going to where almost like you don't I think the ultimate goal is where you don't really have targeting. Like your copy and and things in the AI and algorithm will know and you just put up an ad and it serves it to the appropriate audience, but but yeah, that's you're exactly right with all that. Yeah, it's getting weird.

It's I love it, but I hate it at the same time. Yeah, it's a love-hate relationship. Yeah. Yeah, that sounds about right. Well, I appreciate that info, guys.

I had no idea. I did I'm just kind of a newbie at the at the ads team, but I figure, you know, I'm I'm going to spend some money to try to make some money and I'm glad you guys tell me and that that uh that whole concept, Donald, of overfeeding, it's kind of like a balloon that's sufficiently blown up, right? You don't want to keep adding air to it and it's going to pop. Yep. And then it's going to go everywhere, so Yep.

Yeah, got it. On your going back to your if you don't mind, going back to your email or I can't remember if you said it or are you tracking your opens? No, I don't I don't even know how to do that. I've heard that it's possible to do that, but I know I'm I know some of my stuff is going to spam because I've gotten three or four emails saying, "Hey, I just thought you never messaged me. I requested the info."

And I sent it, of course. Um Sure. a month and a half later I get an email, "Hey, I found this in my spam folder. I thought you didn't message me, you know. Right.

>> to proceed. Are you using Gmail or I have I'm just sending stuff from my own website. I have a I have info@riversidespotlight.com. That's my website and so that's what I send it >> like what email client are you using?

I don't know who UE9I uses. I use UE9I which is kind of a whack uh I don't I don't really care for that website place location, but um Okay. I don't know who they use. I know what isn't your standard though. I forget what it's called.

I I was going to say like like for example, I mentioned this earlier and this is um like I use Chrome browser and I use Gmail and I use snowv.io snov.io to track my opens and that what what I found is that I don't know whatever the numbers are is like I'll send I don't know 50 emails and I might get one response and a lot of people will say they'll they'll track obviously the responses but they don't know if they're getting opens and so that's the biggest tail on whether you're going to spam or Um it's not obviously 100% but if you know you're you're sending 50 and you're get like my my um think my my cold email open rate right now is like right at 70%. Um so like 69.8 or something now and I've had it's dropped just a couple of percentage points.

But the biggest thing is like if you're not tracking your opens on cold email and you don't know have a system set up or whatever that might be you don't know um if it's going to spam or not. You got to have systems that are set up that will show you that. So that's that would be my biggest um uh piece of advice I guess you could say is like if you can switch over to Gmail or something to where you can track your minimally so that way you'll know you have a much better idea if you're going to spam or not. Yeah, that's a good idea. 90% of the >> That's That's two totally different two totally different things.

>> Yeah, 90 90% of what I do just because Riverside is like this, it is so it is it it's so congested, there's so many businesses. I literally have to go in a 5-mi radius and I can hit hundreds and hundreds of businesses. And my thing is just face-to-face, man. I just walk in, what's up, I grab a burger, I grab a taco, I get a haircut, I shave my beard, whatever, and I pitch, you know? And then I barter.

And so I just talk to business owners. I walk in as often as possible. I'm willing to barter. How can we help each other out? Hey, give me a haircut, I'll give you a free, you know, whatever.

Um so I mostly do walk-ins. 95% of everything I've closed is walk-in. So I very rarely do email, um but I would definitely like to because it'd be nice to have some warm walk-ins rather than always be a cold walk-in, you know? At least they know I'm a I'm on my way or whatever rather than me just walking into their business. Right, yeah.

Have you're You're doing face-to-face, so you're you're doing the other half. I'm doing like cold email and and I've got a uh kind of a a VA that'll do phone calls for me, but I'm getting more out of email, but it's it's a little bit of uphill battle. It's a little slow. So you I mean you've got your your problem is once you get the client or once you talk to somebody and you send them email them information, they're not getting it. Yeah, that's happened a few times, but the the mostly it was the ones that I was getting from the meta ads.

So somebody would say, "Hey, you know, send me some information." It would They would fill out the little form, I'd get their email, I'd get their their phone number, what they do for a business, their name. And so I send them an email. And then I send another one. And then I send those four that day.

And then two people are like, "Hey, never got that email." Or Yeah, sorry I didn't I found this in my, you know, a month and a half later I get an email saying I found this in my spam. Do you have >> One way to follow up with those leads Say that again. Do you have phone numbers with those leads? I was just going to say if you get phone numbers, you maybe text them, "Hey, I just sent you email, check your spam."

Yeah, yeah, I did I do get the phone numbers. Matter of fact, I call them first before I even email them. I just go straight for the phone call because that's what I'm collecting on that ad. The form collects their phone number, their email address, their name, and what they do for a living, or what they're trying to advertise. Right.

>> the four things I put on there. So, what do you do? What's your name? Your email? Your phone number?

They fill that out. And then I call them I try to do it within 15 minutes. I have it set up so that on my phone I get their the little ding and it says say somebody filled out the form. I call them within 20 15 20 minutes if possible and say, "Hey, just I saw you wanted some information." Yeah, yeah, I'm right here, but I'm I'm I just filled it out.

I'm getting ready to do this. Could you send me some info on my email? And then I send it. And then I thought they get it, but you know, a month and a half later I realized they didn't. Yeah.

In that case just I think for you since you're my my advice would be since you're already on the phone, either text them or maybe send it that night and text them or pick up the phone and say, "Hey, did you get a chance to look at it?" I mean, that way you can follow up with them. That way they know they that you sent it versus thinking they got it and it went to >> Yeah. I mean, if you're if you're good on the phone already shoot, leverage that. Yeah, yeah.

I may have to get your CRM Mitch, and try to start throwing all these things on there cuz I'm downloading those into a CSV file from Meta and I'm keeping those in CSV file, but then how to be able to track and who I called and who I didn't and following up and who's where That's why I got to use that CRM. Yeah, I mean, it's helpful. You can also set up a CRM on on a spreadsheet, but it takes some time and it's not perfect, but Yeah, it's not fun. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, like like Will said, phone call follow-ups are the key. Luckily, phone calls don't typically go to spam. Yeah. every business owner is getting spam calls, for sure. I don't know about any of you guys who have a Google Business Profile, but I get like 20 calls a day about spam >> Your Google Profile is not showing.

It is like every single time. I get 20 of those a day. Every time they all start with a 210 number, almost always. Yeah, they match your area code. Yeah, they match your area code and then start blasting you every every every 2 hours or so you get one of those calls, Yeah.

I'm lucky because my area code is not where I live now, it's where I used to live. So, I kind of know if it's coming from that that area code, I don't have to answer it. So, it's helpful for I got I really want to start learning this whole community card thing. I saw your video, too, on the community card thing. And man, that that's a thing, man.

It seems to be going nice It seems to be blasting right now. A lot of people are going community card route rather than the 9 by 12 or And then I've seen some videos on people who are saying they're doing the community card route style, but still using the 9 by 12 postcard to give people the most I mean, you're paying a little bit more, but the price difference isn't that big if you can get the right printer. Um so, some people are still doing that, basically, a version of saying sell them cheaper and do the same thing. >> Exactly. Yeah.

Are you guys Are you guys finding people that are like only want to sign up for 1 month? I'm like, I'm not doing 1 month, man. I mean, I do, but I just want to try it out. I just want to do 1 month. I'm like, that's not how it works.

That's like running one commercial and thinking people are going to become you know, I don't know. I'm selling 3 months minimum. I don't even offer 1 Well, it's good. That's good that you can do that. Um I I I typically don't say no, so I would sell it with the goal of creating that relationship, so that they'll continue month after month.

Um obviously it's ideal if they if they choose multiple months, but I I haven't I haven't set a boundary like that, but that's cool that you're able to fill your cards with that boundary. >> It's just the positioning, right? I mean, I used to from the very from the very get-go, I just let them know, "Hey, nobody's ever ran one commercial and had success. People have to know you. The first month is barely going to get you noticed.

The second and third month is where you're going to start to gain traction and you're going to understand whether or not this is something that's working, right? So, the companies that are succeeding and doing the best and are actually getting noticed are those who are doing a minimum of 3 months. So, I'll tell you what, let's do 3 months. We're only going to take the first month payment up front. We're going to set you up for an auto draw for the next 2 months.

This is going to give you really good gauge as to whether or not this is working for you. You know, I'll tell you what, I'm going to pay 50 bucks off your first one. Let's Let's get this going, you know? And I I'll say I'll take 50 bucks off your first month, and I just position it that way, letting them know that one one month is actually quite a bit of a waste cuz I can almost tell you you're not going to get much traction at all, and I'd hate for you to just throw away 450 bucks. And they're like, "Well, that kind of makes sense, you know?"

So, and that's just kind of the way I pitch it. And I say, "I'll tell you what, I'm going to throw in the first $50 for you, and I'm instead of 450, we're going to do 399." And then I just get it and then they you know, say, "All right, I'll do the 399, see what happens in the first 3 months." And then uh I share them on my Facebook page or whatever it is um and try to do what I can to get them noticed, and I come back in and bring a customer and say, "Hey, we have Here's a buddy of mine. We're going to buy some hamburgers."

Or hey, we're going to you know, I go back in there and spend money in their business, if possible. Setting expectations is everything. Do you Do you have an agreement with these advertisers, and have you had any any like tension with these auto renewals? Have you had them fail to pay? No, not really.

I mean, I set them up with Stripe, and then on Stripe Stripe No, no, no, is it Stripe? What do What do I use? Uh Probably Stripe. Yeah, Stripe. And then I just set it up Yeah, no, it's Stripe.

Yeah, and then I just set it up so that it just automatically sends them the bill and then they they just pay it. Like that That lady I tell you, she's a cleaning She's a She cleans homes, Royalty Cleaning, and it just sends it automatically sends it to her and then it just says, "You've received payment." And then I just see it pop up on my >> So, I set that I set that expectation with them. It said Yeah, it says, "Real easy. You don't have to put in your info multiple times.

It'll just show up. You hit click now." I mean, pay now, and they just click the pay now button. It pays it automatically. So, that's the way it's been That's the way I've been setting it up.

I have a a tip on the the pitch that's uh um from a guy that uh does these magazines here in Colorado And so, this is a a really cool idea, and it's very obviously similar to what we do, and he doesn't get like, you know, hundreds of pages of magazine. He knows the value of keeping it small. And so, uh he only does like probably a maximum of 40 pages, but anyway, one of the things that he was telling me I didn't ask him his pricing on this for the postcard reasons. I was asking about trying to promote my own sharpening business. I was curious what he actually charged.

And he made he made a very good point. He said, "If a business is doing this for like a Hail Mary pass, that they're trying to get into the end zone to uh help rescue their business or to start their business, it's really not for them. It's It's for those that are already doing mark They're already putting money into marketing efforts in some sort. This is just another one of those tools in their tool bag. And I thought that was a really good piece of advice similar to our postcards that we do.

you know, I appreciated it as he was selling the idea to me where I think about how we're trying to sell this to help other businesses where yeah, it's it's not meant, you know, for those that are only interested in doing just, you know, all I just want to try it one time and see if it works. It's like no, this this is not meant to be a make a million bucks in one shot like Frank always says. This is you know, for those who are already doing the things and uh and so using that analogy where it's not meant to be a Hail Mary to all of a sudden just bring you a gold mine. It's just another tool in your toolbox uh for people who are already doing things. So, I thought that would be helpful for you know, adding to the the pitch that you were saying uh for all of us.

It's great advice. It's all about the expectations. We're good. I just really want to get another free tool out there into the community, especially cuz so many people ask about QR codes and scannable QR codes and stuff. So, I'm glad I got that done and now people can utilize it and I can hear like like I said, you guys are beta testers.

So, let me know how how it's going with with these things. Um let me know if there's any improvements I can make. It's been a pleasure talking to you guys. I appreciate you coming on here for 2 hours. You guys have a great night.

It's great talking to you guys. See you. >> Take care, Mitch. Have a good one, guys.
