A quick walkthrough of the Tasks tab in the 9x12 Method CRM, showing how to schedule follow-up calls, repeat daily prospecting, and mark tasks complete.
Key takeaways
- Tasks can be tied to a specific contact and an action like a call or email, or set to other when nothing fits.
- Set a due date and a repeat schedule, such as weekly or monthly, so recurring follow-ups with a prospect show up automatically.
- A daily repeating task like "daily email prospecting" works as a built-in reminder to do your outreach every single day.
- Click the circle to mark a task complete, review finished items in the completed list, or edit and delete tasks as plans change.

Welcome to the 9 by 12 method CRM tasks tab where you can actually manage tasks and use this as your own personal 9 by 12 sales calendar basically. Right now you can see we don't have any tasks but let's add a task. You can actually assign the task to a specific contact and you can attribute the task to a certain action but you could also just choose other if none of them are relevant. But let's say you want to call Top Notch Market. It's automatically going to give you a title but you can also change that.
Talk to Top Notch Market on the phone. And this is just for you to see so you can name it whatever you want. Then you choose the due date. You can select on the calendar. So now we have it due April 18th.
That reminder's going to show up as due today on April 18th. And you can also set it to repeat. So if you want to call them once a week, you just click here and you click weekly. Or if you want to call them once a month, monthly on the 18th. Or yearly or custom.
So you can actually just select the days that you want the task to show up. So after you set the dates, you can also add any additional notes like make sure to be friendly. So now you can see this is due within the next 7 days because it's due on the 18th and today is the 16th. And let's add another task so I can show you a useful way of using the repeat tasks feature. So we're not going to assign a contact to this one.
The action is going to be email. Task title, daily email prospecting. We'll set the due date for today because we want to start this today and we can repeat it daily. So now every day we're going to get reminded to do our daily prospecting and it's going to show up every single day so that we know. And then once that task is complete, we just click that circle and we can see that we've completed the task.
So anytime you've completed a task, you click the task completed circle. And then you can go to your completed tasks here and see any task that you've completed just in case you forgot. Of course, you can always edit the tasks and you can change the due date or anything by clicking on this edit button right here. And lastly, if you want to delete the task instead of marking it as completed, you just click this trash can. This is a great way to remind yourself to follow up with specific people because obviously we have a million different pipelines running in a million different directions in the 9 by 12 business.
So, it's important to have these reminders set up.
